Spring

I am ready for it!

What do these three things have in common?

Nothing really, except they describe my life for the past few weeks...For my regular readers (or staulkers as my friend Lauren likes to call herself) I feel like I needed to explain why I have been slackin in the posting department. Well let me explain, I do have a good excuse...

First off we had an ice storm which hit us Valentines Eve and left us without power for Valentines Day. I don't mind not having electricity, actually it was nice not having the phone ring, having to check emails, music or tv. It was just us. Thankfully Seth and I got our cups of coffee BEFORE the power went out. Once the evening came it was 24 degrees outside and we were COLD...so we headed to our good friends house for some FIRESIDE fun...at 9pm the electricity came on in our house and we were able to sleep in our warm beds. Unfortunately of the 70,000 people that lost power, 44,000 still do not have power today..and may not tomorrow :(

The second photo, well...lets just say once you've gone MAC you'll never go back...we have officially crossed over to a MAC for my business...all I have to say is WHY DIDNT WE DO THAT SOONER! This machine ROCKS...I am excited to start my wedding season full on....I have been busy trasferring files and weddings to the new system...no time to post!

And Finally, the most exciting news is my LITTLE girl is now potty trained...we decided that we would try it for a week, see how she did and go from there...well, the first day lets just say I was ready to give up, the second day, still ready to give up after all the laundry I had done thus far (maybe 15 pairs of pants?) The THIRD DAY she went all day with NO ACCIDENTS...since that day we have had maybe 2 accidents and she is fully trained! That in and of itself took ALL OF MY TIME :)

Sorry I havent been around I promise stick around, once I am done learning how to ride my new MAC bike, I will get back to posting!

Visiting Friends and Firetrucks

We drove down to Fairhope to visit Seths good friends from college. It was great to be with them. These shots are of Slade and Wendys kids, Slade Mitchel and Mary Broxton. Slade owns a firetruck company and let us ride in the firetrucks :) It was fun! Of course I can't resist taking photos of these little sweet ones.

Riding Horses

Shelby is really getting good with those horses. Grace had a blast riding with Shelby,

and yes Daddy was holding onto the horse

for all those nervous nillies out there (Mom, ha)

Mr Joe, enjoyed watching the kids ride. The horses are out at his house. Grace went with Nana to feed the horses and she loved it, when she got to Mr Joes she said "E-I-E-I-O" (Mr joe lives out in the country. I guess she thought it was a farm!

Feeding Baby Goats

Grace was so excited to feed the goats at a neighbors house. They were so cute, they have had 3 sets of triplets over the last few months! Thank for letting us visit!

Life in Leroy

Seth and I have enjoyed our "christmas vacation" in Leroy this week.

Samantha and I went out with our cameras to have some fun. My sister in-law is a photographer as well, we have fun when we get to play...

So I bet you thought you were going to see an actual family photo...oh no, it's even better than that...this is a picture Grace drew on a chalkboard we have. When I asked her what she was drawing she said "Papa, Mama and Grace, mama is hungry, she eat hamburger" (the little orange thing is supposed to be my plate) when I asked her where we all were she replied "a swimming pool" ! Fancy that!

New Macro Lens

I bought the Nikon 105 2.8 Macro VR lens yesterday and I am pretty excited about it. It lets you zoom in really close on all the details of life. This photo is one of Seth's "flies" he is a fly fisherman and ties flies to fish with. This little ity bity thang catches some pretty large fish! (see that hun I am braggin on ya)

Today we went to check out the historic district Downtown Annapolis.

It was fun. We love living here!

There are a few streets that have all these cool houses

Album Season

It has been great to have a little break from the business of back to back weddings. Although I LOVE my schedule, and I LOVE my weddings...I do like to take the winter season to refresh, seek new inspiration and grow in my skills so that I can hit the ground running come my wedding season time.

I also take this slower season to get all caught up with the "business" side of things. I have designed a few albums (which I have posted here), and still have about 4 more to do before April (note to all my brides who need to get their lists in PLEASE get them to me ASAP, the sooner you get them in the sooner you get them back to enjoy :) I have done a few families for Christmas and kids shoots which I always enjoy in the off season.
